Job description
Community Medical Center located in Toms River, NJ is looking for a Lead Medica l Technologist
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs and interprets routine diagnostic assays on blood and body fluids. Performs all duties related to the preparation, identification, and testing of specimens. Performs all related documentation tasks. May be required to obtain patient blood samples by venipuncture or capillary puncture using aseptic techniques and collection skills appropriate to the age and level of difficulty of the patient. Participates in evaluating, documenting and implementing technical essays. Provides technical guidance to non-certified personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Has education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by CMS in the Clinical Lab Improvement Act (CLIA) of
1988 and NJSDH requirements. BS in Medical Technology or AS/ AAS including clinical rotations. At least 4 years of experience within the subspecialty where they will be functioning as lead technologist. Certified ( or, certification eligible) by a Category I Agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, HIS/HEW).
