Position Announcement Utah Valley University is seeking a student to assist in the Noorda Summer Camp!
Summary of Responsibilities Come work with us at the Noorda Theatre Summer Camp! This is a great opportunity to work with children and youth and to receive training and mentoring in teaching and directing young people in theatre and drama.
Minimum Qualifications Must be a current UVU Student.
Preferred Qualifications: - Have taken relevant university courses in Elementary Education, Theatre, Music, or Dance.
- Have taken UVU's THEA 2100 Teaching Theatre for Children, THEA 2211 Theatre for Children & Youth, and/or THEA 3231 Creative Drama courses
- Coursework or experience in children's theatre, youth theatre, and/or creative drama.
- Previous experience working with children and/or youth.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities - Knowledge of basic theatre, dance, music, or creative drama techniques.
- Knowledge of teaching basic techniques to children and youth.
- Ability to work with others, including peers and mentors.
- Ability to remain patient with children and youth.
- Ability to arrive at work at scheduled time.
- Ability to turn lesson plans in on time.
