The Global Capitalization Analyst is a central role in the Company's Corporate Accounting team; interacting across the company with finance and operational leads. The role is focused on the capitalization processes and accounting practices around those items covered under IFRS 16, IAS 38, IAS 36. The role ensures the company is accurately accounting for the capitalization/amortization of its assets both tangible and intangible. The role reports to the Assistant Corporate Controller in the Accounting and Consolidation team which is a part of the Corporate Accounting team.
YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:
- Prepare and execute monthly entries associated with Lease Accounting, general Capex and intangible assets to include internal labor capitalized as part of R&D projects/assets
- Assist in the design and implementation of related accounting policies and procedures to improve processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting and internal controls
- Define account usage and related hierarchies for the processes associated with the processes described
- Assist as needed with the completion and planning of the Audit, providing needed data and process materials
- Assist as needed with inputs and provide timely and accurate reporting to support state and federal tax filing/compliance when needed for assets
- Maintain the global asset register for the company ensuring accuracy for the P&L as well as a version for tax purposes, ensuring a clear bridge between these two registers, working to ensure overall accuracy
- Assist in providing data for the the company’s global insurance coverage and annual renewal process where needed for coverage of assets
- Work with regional finance leads to conduct a physical inventory for physical assets on the needed IFRS guidance and local audit requirements
ARE YOU READY FOR THE ROLE?
Main requirements:
- Strong understanding and experience with IFRS standards, specifically with IFRS 16 and IAS 38 & 36
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA required/MBA with accounting focus a plus
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Experience working in financial systems (e.g. ERP)
- Ability to manage complex problems and drive sustainable data-based solutions
- Change management skillsets to institutionalize lasting improvements through the organization
- Proven communication and conflict management skills in the pursuit of high standards of excellence and collaboration across the organization
- Ability to tailor messaging and communication to a wide range of audiences
- Skills/proficiency in: Excel, Microsoft Access, PowerBI and other standard analytical software
