Your Role
We are hiring a Business Development Manager in our PSC Software sales organization. This role will be focused on selling PSC Software’s industry leading SaaS software, ACE, to the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and greater Biotech industry. The role will include both hunter and farmer sales elements as the role includes both new client acquisition and upselling current clients. Successful candidates will have 3-5 years of experience in sales and a strong understanding of the various stages of the overall sales cycle. This is a remote position with up to 50% travel required.
- Drive top line revenue growth through professional, consultative, and proactive interactions with all levels of customers ranging from key decision makers to front line employees.
- Collaborate with appropriate internal resources to develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the client.
- Conduct formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts.
- Use a proactive, consultative sales strategy to effectively overcome client objections and maximize sales effectiveness.
- In collaboration with Director Business Development, develop effective proposals and persuasively close new business opportunities.
- Perform appropriate prospecting activities to identify qualified prospects for new business development.
- Analytical skills, coupled with strong technical abilities, and a genuine passion for existing and new technologies and scientific advances.
- Develop expertise in PSC Software and PSC products and services to enable the sale of these products and services to prospective client.
- Generate leads, qualify prospects, and secure new business opportunities for PSC Software.
- Develop and provide competitive intelligence on competing firms.
- Establish effective relationships with internal associates and external clients to grow an effective business team to expand PSC Software presence and business growth.
- Ensure proposals meet minimum standards for profitability.
- Follow up on submitted information (i.e., inquiries, RFPs, proposals, etc.) as appropriate.
- Provide direct client support, in close collaboration with Implementation team and technical support. Immediately respond to client needs to meet client expectations.
- Maintain documentation of sales activities in CRM, in order to facilitate appropriate reporting of client contacts, notes, opportunities, and sales pipeline.
- Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue streams.
- Attend and contribute to PSC Software implementation and sales meetings.
- Represent PSC Software and PSC Biotech at business development activities worldwide.
- Contribute to the growth of PSC by contributing the overall strategy of the company.
- At all times, demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and personal integrity.
- Operate with the highest professional business ethics when dealing with clients, colleagues, and government entities.
- Excellent communication and people skills are needed to succeed in this role.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time-to-time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 3-5+ years proven business development, sales, and account management experience.
- Experience building and executing business development/sales activities and possess excellent customer service skills.
- Proven ability to generate a high volume/high quality sales pipeline.
- Proven record of delivering high quality presentations and business proposals/contracts under tight timelines.
- Highly organized in planning and time management, with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Learning Mindset - ability to get into the details and deeply understand our software and the biotech regulatory environment.
- SaaS Software sales experience is desirable
- Experience in developing and closing new business opportunities in the life sciences industry is desirable.
- Located in the Western US (California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington).
