About the role
The Onsite Quality and Commissioning Manager will work closely with the site DCS (Data Center Services) team, DCOPs, General Contractors and all associated Vendors on all activities as it relates to Quality Assurance and Commissioning! This position will also work with Program Teams and support all new and ongoing Quality and Commissioning efforts as they pertain to Data Center Construction activities at the site. The construction projects will range from new construction/new buildings to capital upgrade projects in existing facilities.
This position is required to be onsite full-time in Midlothian, TX.
What you’ll do
- Lead the clients site-based quality control and quality assurance programs, and ensures the General Contractor is completing this program effectively, while also driving the commissioning program and strategically leading the clients General Contractor and integrates with the clients Operations team to deliver the programs goals and deliverables
- Build, update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reports
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications
- Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed to ensure conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work. Verify that checklists are being used and signed off prior to the placement of concrete, steel and other similar items of work
- Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents and the approved submittals.
- Document final inspections, and acceptance of the works and various phases.
- Leads the quality control staff and all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure all teams are in compliance with applicable owner/architect and contract specifications, codes, regulations and requirements.
- Functions as the point of contact and liaison with the Owner for quality control related issues.
- Implements and/or handles the keeping of all quality control records and ensures that required reporting is accomplished.
- Plans, schedules and coordinates to ensure that all required audits/inspections are performed and detailed. Carry out Internal Audit at site as scheduled in the Project Quality Plan, PQP.
- Report results to the respective superintendent(s) in an expeditious manner. Acts as a catalyst for follow-up corrective actions and re-inspection when deficiencies are discovered.
- Assists Project Safety Coordinator to implement and passionately carry out safety programs and practices to build a safe and healthy work environment
- Prepare/review commissioning and construction quality test scripts for Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning
- Supervise existing on-site Cx processes for consistency and adherence to client expectations.
