Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Hickory, NC 28602

Shift: 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:00)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 13-week renewable contract

Salary: $2,640-$3,080/week

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room (OR) team in Hickory, NC. As an OR RN, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the surgical team to prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Assist with pre-operative assessments, including patient history review and physical examinations.
• Implement and maintain sterile techniques throughout the surgical procedure.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their safety and comfort during surgery.
• Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist or surgeon.
• Assist with surgical procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures to the surgeon.
• Monitor and document patients' post-operative recovery and provide appropriate nursing care.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe operating room environment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.

Requirements:

• Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Carolina.
• COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with facility guidelines (medical/religious exemptions only).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Previous experience working with Meditech Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
