About The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the accounting operations of the company, including oversight of accounts payable and receivable.
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, organizes, coordinated and directs the efficient and safe operation of a team; ensures compliance with all applicable GAAP rules, statutes, and legal requirements
- Takes direction from the Controller and incorporate company objectives into his/her vision for each year
- Establishes and manages departmental goals and objectives for accomplishing assigned functions; ensures proper allocation of personnel; delegates functional activities to those assigned to him/her
- Trains and mentors his/her team; provides developmental opportunities and stretch assignments, ensuring the long-term sustainability of his/her department and the functions he/she operates
- Supports all Accounting Staff within Utilitra as well as for Utilitra's client companies; prepares and verifies information, responds to customer questions, offers insight when issues arise related to areas of expertise
- Writes or collaborates to produce performance evaluations for his/her team; develops appropriate plans for continuing to grow the people under his/her care
- Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial information that is sent out on behalf of the company or its customers to vendors, financial institutions, banks, insurance companies or other stakeholders
- Reviews, monitors and makes recommendations on A/P and A/R processes, systems and workflow for Utilitra as well as J.F. Electric and other Utilitra clients as assigned
- Mentor and train Staff Accountant(s)
- Become an administrator for pVault. Train new users, add new users, alter routing rules, and answer all questions pertaining to pVault
- Work with Keystyle (better understand how payroll is coming into Viewpoint)
- Collaborates with others to gather information, provide data and support related to field of expertise
- Reviews expenses on a routine basis; approves entries in pVault and ensures accuracy of data posted to ledger
- Special projects & other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting required
- Expertise in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable imperative
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and legal requirements of accounting and finance
- Vista Viewpoint experience helpful
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in Construction Industry required
