Job Summary

The accounting specialist provides administrative and accounting support to the accounting manager and accountant of the producer commission group, a subgroup of the Payroll Department. The position performs daily operational duties that include entries and adjustments prior to the end of the pay period, administration of the monthly commission payroll, and post payroll reports. Performs any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

What You’ll Do:

What We’re Looking For:

Associate in accounting. One to three years’ administrative experience and basic accounting knowledge of assets, liabilities, income, expenses, debit, credits, and journal entries.

Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.

Experience using Applied – EPIC (agency management system/general ledger) highly preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office13 Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook. Above average Excel skills needed.

Ability to listen and communicate (verbal/written) and follow-up effectively with employees, agents, managers, and executives

Must have these attributes to be successful in the position: excellent time management skills, ability to prioritizeworkload, work independently, self-starter, inquisitive, team player, handle responsibility of highly confidential information, detailed oriented, accurate and able to focus on priorities to adhere to tight deadlines, calm under pressure.
