DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARY:

GTSC, a values-led, industry leader in Health & Wellness, Strategic Planning/Comms, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and IT/Digital Modernization for DOD, IC and FedCiv Agencies, is searching for a General Ledger Accountant. This is a full-time position located in Chantilly, Virginia.

As the General Ledger Accountant, you will support GTSC and all of their subsidiary companies

The GL Accountant will support the accounting and business processes for GTSC and all the subsidiary companies. The right candidate will be able to work independently and function effectively as part of a team and interact with people from junior to senior-most levels. This individual should have experience meeting deadlines and prioritizing contracts-related items across medium-large organizations.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

Bank Reconciliation :

• Reconcile and analyze all bank accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identifying and correcting errors as necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date records of cash transactions and ensure proper classification in the GL.

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Assist in resolving any AP-related inquiries and discrepancies.
• Support Accounts Payable function, review vouchers, and act as a backup as needed.

General Ledger (GL):

• Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of various financial reports as required by management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records for audit and tax purposes.
• Support compliance with local and state tax regulations

Industry Knowledge:

• Government agency experience.
• Proficiency with Unanet/Deltek is a plus

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Work Experience: 5+ years of relative experience

Candidates must have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to step in where needed to support the department and the business.
