Overview
The associate Director of Architecture, Design adn Planning will plan, organize, direct and control all functions in the department assigned to Architecture, Planning and Project Management Area.
Responsibilities - Manage all construction and renovation programs with either in-house or Owners Reps, prepare all necessary Project Reports.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and appropriate productivity of staff within Planning, Design and Project Management Area
- Participate on the Major Capital Budget to review and recommend various essential project. Prepare presentation reports, Plans, Projected costs for Expenditure
- Prepare all necessary Capital Project " Bid Documents" with In-House and Consulting Architects, Engineers and other Professionals. To prepare Project Feasibility Scope and Reports to determine the project fiscal and need viability.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all NY State, Federal or Local Code (DOH, AIA. OMH, ECB, DEP, DOT, JC, etc.) and other Regulatory established by such agencies and requirements issued by VP, Administration or others.
- Assist with preparing Standard form of AIA Agreement between owner and contractor for construction of capital projects including owner and consultants.
- Design and Project Management of various Healthcare projects with annual budget including master planning, programing and schematic.
- Supervise in-house Architects, Engineers, Project Managers and CAD Operators.
- Coordinate Major Project with User, outside Consulting Architects and Engineers.
- Review consultant design document work and obtain approval from Users, In-house Engineering group, Infection control and Life Safety before completion of Bid documents.
- Submit project documents: Architectural, Construction, Plumbing, Sprinkler, Mechanical, Fire Alarm work type including Applications to Department of Building's approval. Coordinate all DOB work with Building Expediters.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Architecture/ Engineering with NY State active license
- Minimum 10 years Hospital/Healthcare Experience
- Familiarity with NYC Building codes, 1918 FGI- Guideline, Life Safety Code, Health Code, OSHA Standard. Microsoft programs.Strong leadership qualities and Strong negotiation
