Job description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as a Share and Certificate of Deposit expert responsible for providing technical and administrative support for all the credit union's different account types. Also serves as IRA specialist responsible for providing technical and administrative support for all the credit union's IRAs. Communicates with credit union members and staff regarding credit union accounts and IRAs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as primary source of information for the credit union staff on issues involving credit union accounts and products. Respond to members' concerns and questions specifically pertaining to back office requests.
- Review daily accounts that are closed to ensure that the dividends have been paid, documents are imaged for closure and all products are closed properly. Remove e-statements, bill pay and home-banking when necessary.
- Review the report of primary shares accounts that are still opened that should have been closed. Review daily IRA CD audit reports for any missing dividend or maturity transfer records if applicable and ensure that the IRS distribution record is set up properly.
- Complete the escheated account report to escheat the funds from the member's account.
- Ensure compliance with share regulations. Research account discrepancies and perform account maintenance on the Symitar system and complete any necessary corrections.
- Ensure Domestic Relations freezes and IRS Tax Levy requirements are completed on member accounts including but not limited to holds, warnings, and/or comments.
- Complete the escheated account report to escheat the funds from the member's account. Serve as primary source of information for the credit union staff on issues involving credit union IRAs.
- Respond to members' concerns and questions regarding all credit union IRAs via phone or email.
- Ensure compliance with IRA regulations. Review and observe the Required Minimum Distributions for all credit union IRAs that are applicable.
- Attend training and/or continuing education courses to stay current on new trends with relation to IRA training/products.
- Conduct periodic IRA training to credit union employees. Serve as back up for Account Services Coordinators.
- Provide support for Operations Support Department functions, as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures, including compliance with federal laws and regulations as set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- Trained in Symitar, Fed Line Advantage and Zephyr to verify wire transfers. Trained in master site, Q2 central and e-statement portal to close accounts.
- Order supplies as necessary.
- Attend conferences, seminars and training courses relating to areas of responsibility.
- Process member check order requests.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Requires professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for communication members and coworkers. Work requires extensive knowledge of the credit union's different account types and information required with each type of account.
- Requires completion of high school education.
- Requires at least two years previous experience in a financial institution, clerical or operations position.
- Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
- Requires PC proficiency and knowledge of Windows Suite.
