Job description
Position DescriptionMust be skilled in collection and processing of all laboratory specimens for testing. Evaluates specimen acceptability, enters patient and tests information into the computer, and responds to requests for information from customers. Serves in the laboratory's main communication and customer relations center. Contributes directly to patient care by accurately and timely processing specimens and dispersing information both in and outside the laboratory
Position RequirementsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Must have knowledge of laboratory and hospital regulations; ability to prioritize tasks and make immediate decisions and laboratory technical skills for pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical tasks. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
Preferred RequirementsAssociates Degree Science/Laboratory related field.ASCP, AMT, NHA, NCCT, ABB, NPA or Eligible for certification by an agency recognized by the Georgia Department of Community Health within 6 months of hire.
