The Department of English and Theater Arts in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts at Duquesne University invites applications for a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor position in creative and professional writing, beginning Fall 2024. Primary teaching responsibilities will include creative writing and first-year writing. Ability to teach fiction and/or poetry workshops is required; expertise in creative nonfiction particularly desirable. Teaching load is 4 courses per semester, Fall and Spring. This position is renewable with opportunities for advancement, but it is not eligible for tenure.
The successful candidate will have an MFA and/or PhD in English, creative writing, or a related field by August 15, 2024; experience teaching and/or publishing creative writing; and experience teaching a variety of undergraduate courses.
