Director, Budget and Grant Accounting



This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA Exempt position in the Administrative Services Division that reports to the Executive Director of Budget Compliance and Reporting.



Salary : Commensurate with education and experience $72,000/yr.



Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10056)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university *and* Five (5) years of experience in management or the defined departmental area



Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance *and* five (5) Years of experience in budgeting, accounting or statistics. Functional knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial System. Successful experience in management and expenditure of grant and contract funds. Knowledge of governmental accounting, such as purchase orders, general ledger, and accounts receivable. Good organizational skills. Accurate 10-key and keyboarding skills. Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Excel at the intermediate level. Working knowledge of automated accounting systems.



Job Description Summary:

Under minimal supervision, this position monitors expenditures and budgets of assigned grants. For GTC, these grants include special corporate grants and all State and Federal grants, including Adult Education, Workforce Investment Act, New Connections to Work, Fatherhood Initiative, Perkins, and Foundation funded grants. Provides technical assistance and consultative services regarding grant compliance procedures. Reviews general ledger and prepares regular and ad hoc financial reports. Also responsible for the monthly upload of labor from payroll into the PeopleSoft system, remitting deduction payments, monthly financial analysis and journal entry preparation.
