Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer for Open Banking, AWS Cloud Enablement
Location: O Fallon MO (3 days onsite per week)
Duration 1-Year
Role:
- Working within a global team, the role will be responsible for implementing IT initiatives that support and continually improve our operational efficiency, driving automation, improving cost effectiveness, and creating operational excellence. Is primarily focused on services, ensuring we meet their SLAs and efficiency targets, providing support for solutions based upon principles of high availability, agility, scale, and efficiency Requires previous experience of Kubernetes within an organization, and to be proficient with infrastructure/platform automation, with the ability to evangelize these across the organization.
Requires working with:
- Agile frameworks
- Infrastructure As Code
- Infrastructure and Network technologies.
- Orchestration of build and deployment of containerized environments.
- Building and maintaining virtualization automation, monitoring, and reporting tools.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and assisting in complex environmental issue resolution.
- Participation in automation initiatives driving change and efficiencies.
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Assist with project scoping, sizing, prioritizing, planning, and estimation
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other members of the team through retros, planning meetings, and daily stand-ups.
- Understanding of SSL certificates, AWS Certificate Manager, AWS Secrets, IAM, S3, CloudFront, and tools like Ansible, OpenSSL, GitLab
- You will:
- Work with a large established cross-functional team that is focusing on product design and delivery.
- With work on expanding the Open Banking platform capabilities into new markets, opportunities to offer new payment flows are being explored and offered.
- Be involved in the entire Open Banking AWS DevOps world. This includes Configuration and infrastructure work and aligning with another team to ensure accuracy and integrity in an Open Banking platform.
- Lead the implementation of new systems, think strategically, and develop processes, tools, and frameworks to help ensure effectiveness across teams.
- Identify and remedy single points of failure and security risks.
- Continuously improve self-service tools and processes to reduce cycle times for developers and automate repetitive and wasteful operations.
- Manage databases, caching servers, message queues, centralized logging, etc. including AWS aurora, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
- Maintains tools and components including Kubernetes and AWS. Interface with external logging, monitoring, and security vendors.
- Build out Infrastructure code in Terraform, system images in Packer, and application images in Docker.
- Automate and simplify all aspects of systems delivery Identify root causes of incidents and implement learnings.
- Work with development teams to design, engineer, and implement complex infrastructure systems using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.
All About You
- The skills and experience required for this role are:
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience supporting Kubernetes Infrastructure. CKA or CKAD certifications a plus
- Proven skills with Linux or UNIX systems and related protocols/software with 3+ years experience.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of public cloud patterns (AWS/EKS, Azure/AKS); container tools (Kubernetes, Docker); pipeline tools (Jenkins, Gitlab, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform); logging and monitoring (Prometheus, Kibana, Splunk, Dynatrace); scripting (Python, Bash).
- Department-wide public speaking and other communications conveying application-level directions
