Electrical Engineer - Project Management

Our client in Public Transportation is hiring several Resident Engineers to start immediately. Engineers will manage and consult on construction projects, with visions to build the premier public transportation system in the world. Competitive base pay, state of Ohio benefits, including vested pension after 5 years.

Persons in this position will build out, consult on, and oversee projects in the following functional areas: Civil/Roadway/Track, Bridges/Structures, Operating and Passenger Facilities, and some Signals/Communications/Fiber Optic Systems.

PROJECT MANAGER – ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

SUMMARY:

Provides project management direction and compliance for overall customer care of internal and external clients for small to large mechanical and associated building component projects. The position includes project management direction and compliance for overall customer care of internal and external clients for small to large projects.

Projects will be focused on electrical systems with an emphasis on 600 VDC power systems that propel trains, railroad signal systems, and fiber optic or related communication systems. Work will include the integration of these systems into large, complex projects such as rail stations, signal improvement/replacement projects and fiber optic network upgrades and expansion.

The position creates business cases for project funding approval and maintains an integrated project planning and execution approach, status reporting and issue resolution. Develops project plans, estimates and specifications conforming to all applicable building codes and Engineering and Operating Divisions. Resolves project impacts through clarification. Request for Information and Change Order processes. Serves as the single point of contact for projects both facility and Authority-wide.

Requirements:

Professional Engineering registration (P.E.) is a requirement.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering science, preferably Electrical.

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of prior project management experience leading a variety of small to large-scale electrical systems/components, including power, signal fiber optic, and related building projects.

Applicants must be experienced in at least two of the following electrical areas - 600 VDC power systems used by GCRTA trains, railroad signaling systems, fiber optic and related communication systems and building automation systems.

Project Management certification (PMP) or Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) certification is a plus.
