Job description

The Aerospace Reliability, Maintainability, & Safety Engineer provides analytical reliability modeling capabilities to the systems engineering team by leading component and system level trade studies and working with the systems engineers to develop a system architecture to meet customer reliability, maintainability, and safety requirements. In cooperation with the Program Management team, the Aerospace Reliability, Maintainability, & Safety leads and executes RMS efforts to ensure the TMS architecture, components, and design meet the program RMS requirements. This role is responsible for RMS requirements compliance assessment, generating reliability predictions from handbook methods and verifying with test data, and planning and performing HALT testing, endurance testing, and bottoms up reliability analytical methods, interpreting and analyzing test data from the lab for HALT and endurance and field data. During the program, the Aerospace Reliability, Maintainability, & Safety Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary project team of subject matter experts in fields such as such as thermal/aerospace analysis, installation, mechanical design and analysis, reliability, controls, electronics and software, and testing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Expected Hours of Work

Schedule may vary during the hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Some flexibility in schedule is allowed with prior approval, but dependability and punctuality are paramount. Salaried crew members are generally expected to work a baseline of 40 hours per week, although a priority is placed on achieving results rather than tracking time.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Aerospace Reliability, Maintainability, & Safety Engineer has indirect supervisory responsibility for crew members in their programs.

Physical Requirements

This role requires sitting, walking, or standing for several hours at a time.

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor office environment and routinely interacts with other crew members and customers. This role routinely uses both paper and electronic record keeping systems and communication equipment.

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 20% may be required for this position.
