Job description
InGenesis is seeking a Staff Accountant to work with our client. In this role, you will administer and coordinate the agency’s payroll functions; in addition, perform staff accounting duties with a specific focus on Accounts Payable, Grant accounting, and other accounting activities as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Organize, analyze, and maintain payroll-related files.
- Keep an organized file of payroll documents, tax information, and correspondence.
- Coordinate and review the processing of Payroll/Personnel System-related forms to ensure documents are complete, properly coded, and accurately entered into systems.
- Process payroll in the agency’s payroll service software.
- Work closely with the Human Resources department to maintain accurate “permanent” payroll data is contained in the payroll service modules.
- Receive and review timesheet data submitted by the agency’s employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Research and resolve any payroll claims, complaints, or problems concerning payments, wages, deductions, and other payroll issues. Involve the Human Resources department as needed.
- Coordinate payroll tax filings, such as W-2 forms, to governmental authorities with the agency’s payroll service.
- Perform selected Accounts Payable functions and other accounting support for the Finance Department.
- Process Accounts Payable transactions for designated payee groups, including employee reimbursements, continuing medical education (CME) reimbursements, retirement plan contributions, and other assigned Accounts Payables.
- Perform accounting analysis and data entry as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years as a staff accountant with two years experience in payroll processing.
- Proficient in the use of the Internet and Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, or equivalent software products.
Preferred education, experience, training
- Non-profit payroll experience: healthcare preferred.
- Experience with ADP
- Experience with MIP Sage
- Experience in fund accounting
This position is dependent on contract award.
