Senior Writer, ScientificBiochemistry - AAU Research Activities

Location: New Orleans, LASummary

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks including editing and helping prepare laboratory and clinical studies and documents for submission to journals and granting agencies. The Scientific Writer will find, draft, and edit stories for the quarterly departmental newsletter; he/she will write text, prepare content for, and build out pages for the centers website, as well as prepare protocols, reports and manuscripts for publication. This position will report to and work directly with the center director. The ideal candidate will be flexible, good at time management, skilled at working with faculty, and able to provide high-level editing and critique of scientific/medical material.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Two years of experience in science writing/editing
• Experience in technical writing in a scientific or technical field

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a biological science field
• Experience in writing biomedical or Nanotechnology manuscripts, as well as the grants application process, and editing of biomedical manuscripts prior to submission
