Job Description
The Real Estate Lending Closer is a key member of the lending team and will coordinate commercial real estate loan closings for Public Storages real estate division. The Closer plays a vital role across the entire deal closing process, from collecting due diligence to preparing internal closing certification memos. This position will report to the Vice President of Lending.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and track closing checklists.
- Run closing calls with internal staff, borrowers and attorneys.
- Order due diligence reports.
- Collect and file transactional documents.
- Collaborate with borrowers, in-house and outside legal counsel to resolve issues.
- Review settlement statements.
- Prepare internal closing cert memo and circulate for approvals.
- Manage and work with the accounting team to reconcile any post-closing escrow issues.
- Works with loan servicer to onboard closed loans.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal staff and borrowers.
- Prepare ad hoc reports.
Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $38.00 - $43.00
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s
qualifications
, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of our total awards approach to compensation which is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses or incentives.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in paralegal studies or similar. Bachelors degree in business, finance or real estate focus preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial real estate paralegal or closer.
- Solid knowledge of commercial real estate loans closing processes and documents.
- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Superb organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Close attention to detail.
- Energetic, organized, creative, and highly motivated person with the ability to learn and work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong work ethic and ability to support multiple deals in parallel and prioritize competing demands under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
- An entrepreneurial spirit who has the commitment and wherewithal to collaboratively grow the Public Storage platform. This person will bring and implement industry best practices and sophistication to the Company.
