How You Will Make An Impact ThredUp is looking for a UX Researcher to join our team. For anyone who wants to shop or sell second hand, ThredUp’s design and research team provides joyful, crafted, and meaningful user experiences that execute on ThredUp’s mission. In this role, you will partner closely with product management, data science, brand marketing, research and engineering to lead the research efforts for products that power resale in our core marketplace.
Responsibilities: - Partner with design, product, and marketing colleagues to understand business needs and design appropriate research studies to generate insights.
- Design and conduct user research studies that leverage mixed-methods: surveys, interviews, fields studies, focus groups, usability testing, and concept/prototype testing.
- Foster collaboration with cross functional partners to translate research insights into actionable recommendations that informs execution.
- Work in partnership with other organizations across ThredUp, particularly data science, to create coordinated research strategies that consolidates findings from different sources to develop insights.
- Deliver compelling research findings with clear recommendations
- Contribute to advancing design culture, research processes, and strategy at ThredUp
What We’re Looking For: - A deep understanding of common and emerging research methods. You have the ability to create mixed-method research plans backed by clear rationale.
- A balance of strategy and tactics. You’re able to independently create and execute research roadmaps for large-scale, complex projects with high levels of ambiguity and complexity while also being able to dive into short, tactical usability studies.
- A bridge builder. You have experience advocating for customer needs and building alignment across multiple teams, stakeholders by delivering effective written reports, engaging presentations, workshops and visual artifacts.
- An amplifier. You have a track record of maturing UX practices through advocacy, peer mentorship, and thought leadership across an organization, industry, or academic discipline.
- Self Motivated: You jump on opportunities and are capable of self-motivating, prioritizing and managing workload to meet critical project deadlines
- Self-aware: You’re growth minded with a low-ego approach to working with others.
- 6+ years of experience in user or design research.
- Degree in psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, a related field – or equivalent experience.
At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $159,000 and $180,000, and your actual base salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
