The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.  Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

 

HJF is seeking a Research Assistant I to perform laboratory procedures to assist supervisors with various testing, assays, and experiments. Provides support in various areas
of a laboratory as needed. Complies with laboratory quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) plans and procedures.

 

The Department of Anatomy Physiology and Genetics at the Uniformed Services University seeks a Research Assistant to support molecular studies of traumatic brain injury (TBI). The Research Assistant will be trained and supported to generate preclinical models of TBI and to provide state-of-the-art molecular biology support for next-generation sequencing applications including single cell/nuclei and ribonucleic acid isolation, sequencing, library preparation, quantitative assays for quality control, and operation of next generation sequencing platforms. The Reseach Assistant will have opportunities to learn state-of- the-art transcriptomic methods and to gain relevant expertise for postgraduate education and/or career advancement in the biomedical sciences.
