Riding Staff

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young women and girls? Are you looking to develop a career in recreation and social services? The Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council, an organization focused on building courage, confidence, and character, is looking to hire for our Riding Staff positions for our upcoming camp season at Skyland Ranch in Southern California. This is a rewarding temporary position consisting of 45 working days. It pays a competitive wage and provides workers' compensation, health and accident insurance, and room and board.

With the support from dedicated adult volunteers, parents and staff, we deliver the best Girl Scout experience to 12,386 girl members and 5,657 adult members. Our membership represents the diverse cultures of our region. Our goal is to provide a meaningful, relevant program to the members we serve.

A Day in the Life of our Riding Staff

As part of our Riding Staff, you awake each day ready to make a positive difference in the lives of our camp participants. You are responsible for the implementation of all programs relating to horses ensuring at all times a safe, healthy, and clean environment for the campers, staff, and horses. You oversee the care of the horses including their feeding, grooming, health, and safety. You assume responsibility for the health and safety of campers/riders at the corral, trail, and tack areas. You work directly with Unit Staff to plan riding activities in accordance to the Camp Brochure and Girl Scout Standards. You love that you get to work with horses and to be involved in such a variety of tasks and get great satisfaction out of making a positive impact in the lives of those you serve.
