Job description

As a Machine Learning Intern in the Health Lab at OPPO US Research Center, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects related to photoplethysmogram (PPG) data analysis. You will collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers to develop innovative solutions that push the boundaries of wearable health technology. This internship provides a unique chance to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art wearable devices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Health Lab team to design and implement machine learning algorithms for PPG data analysis
• · Conduct research to explore novel signal processing techniques and machine learning models to improve the accuracy and efficiency of health-related insights from wearable devices
• · Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to integrate machine learning solutions into OPPO's wearable devices
• · Analyze and interpret experimental results, providing insights and recommendations for further improvements

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

· Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field

· Strong background in machine learning, signal processing, and data analysis

· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)

· Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for pushing the boundaries of technology.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills

· Prior experience with wearable devices or health-related projects is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

· Demonstrated research experience in machine learning, signal processing, or related fields through academic projects, publications, or internships

· Previous exposure to healthcare-related projects, especially those involving physiological signal analysis or wearable health monitoring

· Familiarity with deep learning techniques and architectures, such as CNN, RNN, and transformers

· Experience with signal denoising and filter desig

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $30-$60/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
