The Propagation Associate is responsible for clone propagation, clone care, and new strain research and development. Monitors and cares for research and development plants daily as they progress from clone transplanting until harvest.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs cannabis cultivation tasks including cutting clones, clone care, transplanting, plant feeding, defoliation, topping, flushing, foliar and preventive spraying, waste disposal, crop inspection, and harvest preparation
- Monitors and records environmental factors including humidity and temperature
- Monitors clones and R&D plants for pests and pathogens
- Mixes nutrient solutions for plant feeding and records associated data
- Performs water, media, solution sampling, and testing
- Maintains daily activity records and operations logs for all activities
- Evaluates and recommends improvements to cultivation processes
- Maintains a clean and sanitized work space by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing work areas
- Maintains plants for research and development through their entire life cycle
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 months of commercial cannabis cultivation experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
- Must possess or obtain a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) Employee Badge
- Basic organizational and time management skills
- Basic mathematic and metric measurement knowledge
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of METRC and Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) compliance regulations related to cannabis cultivation
- Knowledge of cannabis cultivation nutrient requirements, planting mediums, lighting requirements, environmental requirements, soil growing methods, watering, container systems, hydroponics, temperature and humidity requirements, and drip irrigation
- Knowledge of beneficial and detrimental bacteria, plant diseases, insects, fungi, and related methods to manage cultivation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, stretch, walk, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive motions, and carry boxes or items
- Ability to safely use and store chemicals including pesticides, fungicides, cleaning agents, and nutrient concentrates following manufacturer’s recommendations and/or SOP’s
COMPENSATION DETAILS:
- Pay Range: $19.09- $21.55; actual pay will be determined based on qualifications
- Accrue paid time off (PTO) immediately; starting at 2 weeks per year
