Job description

QPWB, a multi-office national law firm, is currently seeking an organized and self-motivated full-time File Clerk to join our fast-paced workers’ compensation defense group in Glendale, CA.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides clerical and administrative support to a group of attorneys, legal assistants and paralegals working on workers’ compensation defense matters. This person will primarily handle file organization, mail management and updating case lists. This is a hands-on position that involves working collaboratively with clients and employees of the firm.

• Organization of physical files
• Management and matching of incoming mail
• Scanning, printing and copying documents and records
• Pulling calendar files weekly for 6 attorneys
• Adding to and maintaining Open and Closed Case Lists
• Archiving and shredding of closed files
• Responsible for all office supply needs
• General phone duties
• Performing other job duties as required

• 2+ years of experience working as a file /administrative clerk with a workers’ compensation defense law firm preferred
• Capable of working with office technology
• Requires critical thinking skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook required.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.

Physical Demands

This employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. They will also engage in bending, stretching, reaching and other ranges of motion in the course of a working day. They will engage in lifting of supplies and materials up to 25 pounds from time to time. While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.

Working Conditions

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
