Camarillo Public Library is where discovery leads. We are seeking a proactive and visionary Assistant Library Director to join our team. As the second-in-command to the Library Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our library to impact our staff and the surrounding community. You will assist in leading a team of passionate professionals in Adult Services, oversee day-to-day operations, and contribute to the strategic direction of the library, as a forward thinker who is supportive and empowering.


Camarillo is a dynamic and community-centric library committed to providing exceptional resources, services, and programs to enrich the lives of our patrons. With nearly 200,000 people visiting our library last year, our 65,000 square foot building offers a technology lab, abundant study rooms, and a Homework Center. Position Summary:

This position reports to, and works closely with, the Library Director in overseeing the operations of the library. This is an ideal position and opportunity for someone with previous success in a supervisory position or an experienced librarian in the public library space. The Assistant Library Director will have direct oversight of Adult Services and IT staff and ensure that exceptional customer service is provided to all patrons.

The Assistant Library Director will present the library to the community in a meaningful and enriching manner that will enhance the patron experience and increase visits and usage.
