Job description

We at Diaconia are seeking an energetic and experienced individual to join our dynamic team! This individual will be expected to deliver a high level of customer service to both our internal and external customers. The successful candidate will have the right complement of relevant skillset, core values and professionalism.

Diaconia is seeking talented Java Developers to join our team. As part of our efforts to leverage technology for environmental protection initiatives, the Java Developers will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications that support various clients' programs and projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts public health and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Application Development: Design, develop, and deploy Java-based applications and solutions to address our client's business needs, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  2. Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, perform unit testing, and collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, error-free software solutions.
  3. System Integration: Integrate Java applications with existing systems and third-party APIs to facilitate data exchange and interoperability across platforms.
  4. Database Management: Develop and optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures using SQL and other relevant technologies to support Java applications.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in Java development, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
  6. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, and user manuals, to facilitate knowledge sharing and support future development efforts.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, system architects, and project managers, to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
  8. Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with security policies and standards, implement appropriate security controls, and adhere to industry best practices for securing Java applications and data.
