Lead Admission Coordinator

Beaumont Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility)

A new, 144-bed behavioral health facility – Beaumont Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. The facility provides a robust outpatient program utilizing a combination of group, family and individual therapy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Admission Coordinator assists the Director with the oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department.  This position provides supervision to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, crisis intervention, and admissions.  The Coordinator interfaces with the Intake Department, patients, nursing units , and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers.  The Lead Admission Coordinator is responsible assisting with departmental adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data entry/management. In addition, the Lead Admission Coordinator assists in the development and management of processes related to efficient and smooth admission process. The Lead Admission Coordinator reports directly to the Director and will assist in interviewing/hiring new staff, staff supervision, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and security to ensure smooth admissions processing for referral sources, families, staff, and patients .  The Lead h as 24/7 accountability and responsibility for assigned area(s) of responsibility and willing to work different shift at any time of the week. Manage the team to decrease errors and answering the hospital switchboard phone, verification of insurances, obtaining signatures on admitting paperwork, and processing of all admitting forms.

Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field required, working towards bachelor’s degree, or having your bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

Additional Requirements: Must be proficient using computer; knowledge of medical  terminology, and thorough knowledge of Word and Excel software programs.
