Montgomery College, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring, have an immediate need for two full-time Digital Learning Center Managers in the ELITE department. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a non-bargaining Status, exempt, grade 31 position. Job Description
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide oversight and direct support in the daily operations of the Digital Learning Center at the respective campus location and the virtual environment.
- Planning of center activities, and providing instructional support to students using the center.
- Maintaining and purchasing educational materials and managing the center's budget.
- Maintain the center's instructional computer system and oversee the center's webpage.
- Collecting and analyzing outcomes assessment data.
- Supervise center staff. Schedule work, evaluate and provide feedback, and train staff and student assistants engaged in providing instructional support to students in the subject area covered by the center.
Provide oversight and direct support in technology integration, digital tools and platforms enhancement, and data analytics for an enhanced student learning experience.
- May work with faculty to develop new programs or strategies for meeting the academic needs of students.
- The center manager may perform the duties of the incumbents he/she supervises including working one-on-one with a diverse population of students.
- Plan and assign work to others within the unit, and provide direction on the methods/ procedures to be used to carry out work assignments.
- Create and maintain the schedule for class usage of the center.
- Manage the use of the Center's software and hardware to enhance classroom support.
- Establish and administer policies for the center. Prepare a center budget.
- Record requisition orders and budget figures.
- Maintain and install software and hardware.
Collaborate on ELITE, College-wide, external, and internal initiatives
- May work with faculty to develop new programs or strategies for meeting the academic needs of students.

Essential Functions
- Direct, coordinate, and manage the operations of the learning center.
- Manage staff and student assistants, including hiring, orienting new employees, scheduling staff and assigning work activities, evaluating and providing feedback on performance, and mentoring/training staff and student assistants.
- Coordinate with IT and SIS on planning, testing, and implementation of new system processes and new system software.
- Maintain records and produce reports on learning center operations including equipment repair and maintenance, and instructional materials invention.
- Monitor the learning center budget.
- Implement learning center technology, theory, and practice to reinforce learning.
- Identify and recommend instructional resources for faculty and student use in the center.
- Implement and enforce policies regarding the usage and development of student support services.
- Research current tutoring digital trends and pedagogy. Design training and workshops for faculty, staff, and/or students.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Two years of supervisory experience or four years of lead-level experience. This experience includes managing and assigning work and evaluating staff, enforcing policies and procedures to support effective center operations, and training staff.
- Five years of experience in a computerized learning center involved in supporting the academic program and working within the pedagogy of the subject area.
Salary Range: $76,679 to $99,671 (annually) .
