Summer Internship Opportunity – IT Support
The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex located in downtown Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is seeking an IT Support Intern (29 hours/week) to provide IT services for internal employees. In this position, the candidate will learn, maintain, and support existing technologies used by the Arts Center.
A successful IT Support Intern must have thorough knowledge of Windows Desktop & Server principles and practices. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and experience with a variety of internet applications, networks, and peripherals. The IT Support Intern must present themselves in a friendly and approachable manner as they will join the internal IT team in providing knowledgeable, resourceful, and professional IT services.
Responsibilities: - Create training and documentation to aid in the adoption of existing solutions
- Support and administer the existing Endpoint Protection tool
- Assist in the organization of company data
- Administer user accounts using Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Provide assistance to users operating new software and computer equipment
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes
- Document existing and new processes
- Research, purchase, and implement software, hardware, and peripherals as assigned
- Assist in other projects that may arise

- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
- Demonstrates ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist with Arts Center special events, including Midsummer Festival of the Arts July 15 & 16, Summer Concert Series, and the July 4th parade
Experience/Qualifications: - Thorough knowledge of IT principles and practices
- Currently enrolled in higher learning with emphasis in Infrastructure IT and/or IT Support
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Summer 2024 Internship Dates June 4-August 23, 2024(may be flexible), 29 hours a week, including some nights/weekends. Some required dates include July 4, July 20 & 21 st .
This is a paid internship. Interns may also be eligible to receive course credit for this internship through their school, but it is the intern's responsibility to pursue this option through their school or university.
