General Information:

Hitachi Energy is currently seeking a global Learning & Development Partner to directly support our fast-growing business in North America. This is a new addition to our team to meet our growing needs, working within a global team, and focusing on NAM.  The ideal location for this role is in Raleigh, NC, although other locations will be considered for the right candidate.  Reporting directly to the head of Talent and Learning for the Americas, you will play a vital role within the organization as you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of our Learning & Development initiatives across a complex, global business within several geographies, with a focus on our manufacturing businesses.  By joining us, you will ensure our team is prepared to meet the organization's current and future needs in a continuously evolving business environment. You will also have the opportunity to grow your skills by working closely with business leaders and global partners to create and execute learning programs across global business lines. We have over 5,000 employees in North America, and you will be a key global partner, impacting our over 40,000 employees across the world.

Your Responsibilities:

• Partner with the global Hitachi learning team, as well as the training colleagues within the business, to drive a culture of learning aligned to Our Leadership Pillars (connecting People to Purpose, People to People, People to Potential, and People to Performance), where managers and employees are empowered to lead their own/their team’s development.
• Align and coordinate with the peer NAM Global Learning and Development Partner regarding NAM L & D Learning Strategy, Programs and Communication and NAM Talent Management programs and communication
• Develop training plans and training curricula for internal development programs.  Support local roll-outs of global trainings.
• Ensure that the training programs realized locally guarantee engagement and superior employee experience, effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
• Experiment with different learning techniques based on most recent scientific research (e.g., adult learning techniques) and digital tools and platforms (e.g., gamification) and drive a culture of collaborative and lifelong learning.
• Actively shape the training portfolio based on analytical data on the training's effectiveness, usage, adoption rate, assessing the impact of the training program on employee performance in a tangible way.
• Stay in close contact with the business to understand the needs for training and coaching, and educate the business to best match needs to our offerings.
• Ensure compliance of local and global training programs realized locally with local laws and regulations.
• Effectively communicate and promote training programs and coaching possibilities.
• Foster a global network of L&D professionals collaborating cross country and exchanging expertise as well as driving global learning and development topics across business areas and geographies.

Training Development and Conduction:

• Develop training curriculum/materials both for individuals and key groups.
• Stakeholder management and buy-in for launching/implementing leadership programs.
• Select appropriate delivery methods for the training, applying rapid design and delivery methods (virtual, classroom, blended, multi-media, etc.) which are the best match to target group needs.
• Collect data and analyze the impact of specific initiatives and long-term impact of the training programs.
• Cooperate with external training providers. Select and oversee vendors to develop training content or conduct training.  Oversee the quality of externally provided learning solutions; ensure training and services meet established standards.
• Analyze training needs to develop appropriate programs to ensure essential knowledge and skills are developed within the employee population. Ensure relevant outcome of talent management process serves as important input on the training need analysis.
• Program management includes upkeep of programs, making sure programs are business relevant and updated with latest learning methodologies, and leading global projects for content renewal or design/development of new programs.
• Communicate offerings through business and promote via partnership with HRBPs and communications.
• Coordinate with HR Operations for publishing calendar, enrollment, invitations, pre-work, venue booking and post program feedback, etc. (end to end training processes) including data analysis and reporting and maintaining training records.  Oversee HR Operations to coordinate the logistics on invites, information to training participants prior to training etc.
• Measure learning effectiveness based on information from surveys, feedback sessions and performance reviews.
• 25% - 30% travel required, especially to our manufacturing locations across the US and Canada.  Some more travel may be needed during peak times but generally flexible, without weekend travel, and within the influence of the Learning Partner.

Your Background:

• University degree in Organizational Development or Human Resources and minimum 8+ years of professional experience within Learning & Development.
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration and partnership skills at all levels of the organization.
• Fluency in English, added bonus if any Spanish or French proficiency, though not required.
• Preference for location within the Eastern or Central time zones due to proximity to business locations and to accommodate global call times.
• Experience working with manufacturing industry and unique needs of first-line supervisors.
• Strong experience in Adult Learning & Curricula creation.
• Solid experience in facilitating and delivering learning programs.
• Strong experience with designing and developing standard & custom-made solutions as well as market experience in delivering “off the shelf” training programs.
• Demonstrated experience in managing Employee Development, Change Management and Organizational Management initiatives.
• Proven record of accomplishment of successfully partnering across a matrixed global environment.
• Experience with coaching and support of Executive Management and Senior Leadership, inclusive of high-potential individual contributors.
• Experience working in a global company is preferred.
