Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Senior Cost Estimator, the successful candidate will provide detailed cost estimates of construction for major hydraulic facilities and related improvements, provide construction planning and scheduling support to the Division, and perform a supporting role in the resolution of construction contractor claims.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


Our ideal candidate will be proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project and Primavera, HCSS HeavyBid, and have both scheduling and estimating experience, and excellent organization skills. Experience or knowledge of performing cost estimates for Construction Projects and projects related to flood control, remediation, restoration, and associated facilities are a plus. Experience or knowledge of preparing preliminary and planning level estimates, and using drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates are also a plus.

The candidate will also have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
