Shop Manager Reports to: Administration Division Head/General Manager
Supervises: Shop Foreman/ Mower Technician
Schedule: Mon.-Fri 7:30a-5p, or as needed outside normal business hours
Compensation: $25.00+/hr, benefit eligible position
Responsibilities - Coordinates and provides daily work assignments for Shop Foreman and Mower Technician
- Diagnoses and repairs problems and/or failures on all vehicles and equipment for the purpose of identifying equipment repair and replacement needs
- Schedules and performs routine and preventive maintenance on all vehicles and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of required vehicles and equipment
- Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition. Ensures that equipment is compliant with OSHA regulatory guidelines.
- Order equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items to complete the necessary installation/repair.
- Manages relationships with a variety suppliers and vendors
- Performs basic repair and maintenance on company buildings and property
- Prepares records of repair/service on all vehicles and equipment in compliance with regulations
- Operates vehicles and equipment to aid in diagnostics; pick up and deliver vehicles and parts
- Responsible for the overall compliance of company fire extinguishers, both in vehicles/equipment and buildings/facilities
- Orders general supplies, tools, equipment and personal safety equipment for all divisions of the company
DOT/ KCC Compliance
- Responsible for the overall company owned truck/ trailer FMSCA compliance
- Organizes and prepares all required maintenance record and documentation
- Performs and documents all Annual Inspections and Road Tests as required by the FMSCA
- Organizes and files all completed Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR)
- Participates in safety meetings, DOT training sessions and KCC audits.
Physical Requirements - Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, push, and pull objects.
- Ability to stretch, bend or twist consistently through the day.
- Ability to regularly lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all temperatures and weather.
- Ability to lift objects of various dimensions and weights.
Qualifications - Associates degree in diesel mechanics or relevant 2 years vehicle and equipment
maintenance experience
-Knowledge of US Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety ----Administration (FMCSA) Regulations (CFR - Title 49), Kansas Corporation
Commission (KCC), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)
Knowledge/ Skills - Must be willing to obtain Valid Kansas CDL License
- Ability to operate all company vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Able to use the following software: Manager Plus, OTC EVO Diagnostic Computer, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Skid Steer, Ditch Witch, Small engine equipment, vehicle maintenance knowledge
