Job description
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates, prescribes, delegates and renders total team nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Provides services to adult and geriatric patients, using the knowledge/skills unique to the requirements of each age group to ensure optimal patient care. Provides direct care to adult and geriatric patient populations for Radiology procedures. Schedules and coordinates procedures for Radiology involving the Radiologist, performing Technologist and room availability. Assesses patient profile and history, monitors and records patient's vital signs and assists Radiologist and/or Technologist during procedure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patients.
Records and reports patient symptoms, reactions and treatment.
Initiates appropriate intervention in patient care.
Assists physician as directed by charge nurse.
Administer meds and perform assigned treatments.
Reports all suspected unsafe practices.
Received and transcribes physician's orders.
Collects, records and labels all specimens.
Transports patients to and from departments as needed.
Consult and utilize appropriate health care agencies.
Display and maintain clinical competencies.
Maintains regular attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Graduate of a professional school of nursing.
Must hold a current and valid professional nursing license.
Accepts personal responsibility for continuing education to keep current in the field of professional nursing.
Must be able to care for patients of all age groups.
Radiology experience preferred.
BLS required or must be obtained.
