We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Manager for our two newest properties, The Fairfield Provo-Orem and The Towneplace Suites Provo-Orem.
Objective:
Enhance quality assurance standards and enhance the guest experience by having a wiling, urgent, and can-do attitude. Additionally, be a productive member of the hotel team by communicating with supervisors and co-workers effectively. Most importantly, enhance the guest experience by making a positive contribution to the position, the team, and to the hotel.
Principal Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day sales and achieve designated weekly call goals.
- Responsible for development and implementation of hotel advertising and promotions.
- Investigate and analyze information and make logical conclusions.
- Make decisions that are in the best interest of the hotel.
- Develop and manage revenue and activity goals for the department.
- Properly manage time between managing direct sales and marketing efforts with primary focus on developing corporate accounts, group sales and meeting and event sales based on determined market mix
- Attend weekly sales calls.
- Assist in any aspect of the hotel management as directed by the GM.
- Knowledge of key competitors is essential.
- Participate in community and professional organizations.
- Maintain a close relationship with local CVB and Chamber of Commerce.
- Thorough knowledge of meeting space capacities, AV equipment, meeting room set ups and all details and issues regarding booking and finalizing meetings and banquets.
- Develop, solicit, and negotiate business in assigned market segment(s).
- Ensure group resumes’ are accurate, including form of payment and distributed in a timely manner prior to submission for GM approval.
- Identify and pursue new and repeat business through prospecting calls, visits, site tours, lunches and networking events
- Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies.
- Maintain accurate, legible records and files per company standards.
- Continually explore and update educational sales training.
- Participate in client events as scheduled.
- Assist with all departmental operations as required.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management. Travel and attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, and visits to existing as well as potential clients.

Job Requirements
- Prior Marriott/Fosse experience preferred
- Must be financially adept and accountable in managing to budget
- Experience in the development and execution of sales and marketing plans
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of revenue management principles to maximize revenue
- Effective planning, organization and time management skills
- Experience with computer applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Office products and property management systems.
Starting Salary $55,000-$65,000 annually
