Job Description:

PT RISE Program Assistant

10 - 15 hours per week, non-benefited

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Realizing & Inspiring Student Excellence (RISE) is a cultural and academic community celebrating the contributions and achievements of Black, African American, African, Latina/o/e, and/or 2SLGTBQI+ students. RISE promotes and increases college completion through student programming, academic scholarship, and career development that supports a culturally and educationally diverse student body.

RISE Program Assistants play an important role throughout the semester, welcoming students into the North Shore community and helping them navigate the many resources available at NSCC. Duties may include, but are not limited to, introducing RISE to new and returning students, staffing event tables, organizing small-scale programming for RISE, supporting and increasing engagement on social media platforms, and serving as an in-person presence in the Academic & Student Success suite.

Program Assistants will serve as knowledgeable guides and positive peer role models. There will be opportunities to work collaboratively with a variety of offices on campus, such as the Student Success Center, Accessibility & Wellness Center, Career Counseling, and the Office of Student Engagement.

Requirements:






PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Familiarity with North Shore resources available to students
  2. Experience working with college students and/or the communities we serve
  3. Experience using social media platforms
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications
  5. Experience using Navigate and/or Navigate app
  6. Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English





Additional Information:




SALARY : $16.00 per hour, non-benefited position, 10-15 hours per week.
