Our Award Winning Client is actively seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer-Diver for our Santa Cruz, California office. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Civil or Structural Engineering, and hold or have the ability to obtain a California PE license within six months. With a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in waterfront/marine underwater inspection, this role requires frequent travel on short notice for extended periods. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee inspection and reporting efforts for both underwater and above-water inspections of waterfront/marine structures and bridges.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive underwater inspections of waterfront/marine structures and bridges.
• Prepare professional reports and documents.
• Perform engineering analysis and design.
• Develop construction drawings and specifications.
• Facilitate regulatory permitting processes.
• Operate and maintain inspection and diving equipment.
• Engage in effective communication with clients, subcontractors, fellow SEI employees, and other stakeholders for job-related activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• California PE (Civil or Structural - required) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• ADCI commercial diver (required).
• ADCI Dive supervisor (preferred).
• NHI UW Bridge Inspector (required).
• NHI Bridge Inspection Team Leader (preferred).
• All dive certifications should be current, including dive physical, CPR/FA, and Emergency Oxygen.
• Must be able to obtain a DBIDS and TWIK card.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• 3-5 years of experience in waterfront/marine underwater inspection.
