What’s your team’s core purpose?
The Corporate Communications team oversees the development and management of The Walt Disney Company’s reputation through external and internal communications strategies that support the company’s strategic priorities and vision.
We are looking for an experienced communications strategist and media relations expert to join our Corporate Communications team as the Director, Corporate Communications to support the Walt Disney Company’s external relations efforts specifically relating to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
What does a person in this role get to do on a daily basis?
Hiring Requirements:
10+ years of media relations, corporate communications or public relations experience, ideally in the entertainment/tech industry.
Highly motivated and a natural self-starter, this person should have a deep understanding of the media landscape (both local and national), be hands-on, and capable of managing proactive and reactive communications to drive reputation from strategy to execution.
Working knowledge/understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Ability to work quickly and cross-functionally is necessary, with a track record of successfully managing high-profile business and consumer issues with press, employees, and key stakeholders.
Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and act decisively.
Proficiency with analyzing the effectiveness of media campaigns.
Preferred Hiring Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and editing skills.
Previous experience with The Walt Disney Company.
The hiring range for this position in Washington D.C is $163,500- $219,200 per year, New York is $167,100 - $229,600 per year, Orlando is $155,700- $208,700 per year and California is $163,500- $219,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
