Job description
Responsibilities
- Ensure all functions performed by Operations team are in-line with Man Groups growth or contraction
- To continually review and improve the working practices/processes of the team.
- Continually improve data quality and consistency
- Ensure security data integrity across multiple internal systems
- To work alongside/with other operational departments to provide cover/product knowledge
- Maintain integrity of financial and confidential data
- Assist with periodic compliance and regulatory projects
- Opportunity to learn additional functions available
- Identifying and investigating corporate actions/income using relevant market information
- Recognising and assessing the impact of corporate actions on holdings and values
- Arranging for (Portfolio Managers) to be provided with clear information about corporate actions/income within set timescales
- Monitoring progress of corporate actions and arranging for global custodians and investment
- Booking and updating Portfolio positions as per the corp event requirements
- Proxy voting
- Identifying actual or potential instances of non-compliance with regulations.
- Scrubbing Announcements from Market Data Vendors, Company Information, and Depositories and Agents
Competencies
- Full understanding of financial instruments, specifically including Equity, Bonds and OTC (Swaps) – high.
- Full understanding of relevant and appropriate Entitlement controls (RCSA) – high.
- Broad understanding of the internal/external IT components required to deliver the effective notification, calculation, posting of Entitlements before pay date – high.
- Broad understanding of 3rd Party Data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, Broker Portals relevant to the role).
- Efficient and ethical
- Accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain things clearly
- Customer service focus
- Strong prioritisation and planning skills
- Teamwork approach to work
- Ability to articulate Operational needs.
- Ability to build and maintain third party relationships – PBs / Custodians / Counterparties.
- Broad application skills across multiple platform – Beauchamp/ISS/Microsoft Office
