Cuvaison is one of the pioneering wineries that helped shape Napa Valley winemaking. We produce premium wines from our certified sustainable estate vineyards located at the Southern end of the Napa Valley in the Los Carneros region and under our Brandlin Estate label from our Mt. Veeder, Napa Valley estate. We are seeking an energetic and talented new team member to head up our finance department to reflect the luxury quality of our brands. This position is a great opportunity to work closely with all the departments within the winery and make significant contribution to the overall success and culture of excellence.

Overview:
As the Controller for our prestigious Napa Valley Winery, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health and strategic direction of the organization. This position requires a unique blend of hands-on financial expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate both the business and regulatory landscape of the wine industry.
Responsibilities:

•  Accounting and Reporting
a. Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
b. Produce timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
c. Work with the executive team to produce budgets
d. Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
•  Information Technology (IT)
a. Oversee the winery’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
b. Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information.
c. Collaborate with IT vendors and service providers.
•  Collaboration and Communication
a. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.
b. Communicate financial information and insights to non-financial stakeholders in clear and understandable manner.

Qualifications:
•  Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar executive financial role, preferable in the wine industry.
•  Strong understanding of winery financial management, including cost accounting, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
•  Familiarity with IT systems and cybersecurity best practices.
•  Excellent leadership and communication skills.
•  Strategic thinker with the ability to balance hands-on operational tasks with long-term planning

Education & Certifications:
•  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
