Job description
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional development courses or certifications in fundraising, philanthropy, or nonprofit management.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and advancement experience, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated experience in donor relations, major gift solicitation, and capital campaigns.
- Knowledge of Catholic education and understanding of the values and mission of a Catholic high school.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
- Proficiency in donor management software and fundraising platforms.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners.
- Understanding of marketing and branding principles for fundraising purposes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for fundraising and advancement efforts aligned with the school's goals and mission.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, alumni, parents, vendors and community members to enhance support for the school.
- Engage in effective communication to keep donors informed and connected to the school's achievements and initiatives.
- Identify and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations to support the school's initiatives, including capital campaigns and special projects.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities from foundations and other sources to secure additional funding for the school.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create compelling materials and messages for fundraising purposes.
- Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all fundraising channels.
- Develop and manage the budget for the Advancement Office, including development activities, special events, alumni events and capital campaigns, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitors all solicitation activity, donor stewardship and recognition
- Supervises support staff to ensure effective process for donor record maintenance, gift tracking, billing reminders and gift acknowledgements
- Supervises Special Events and Alumni Relations coordinator
- Work closely with the school's board, committees, and volunteers to enlist their support in fundraising efforts.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the board on fundraising progress.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements related to fundraising and philanthropy.
- Represent the school in a positive way on and off the school campus
- Knowledgeable and supportive in word and action of the school's mission, vision and educational philosophy
- Implement mission of the school through life witness
- Working knowledge of school policies as they are articulated in the school's Handbooks
