Radiation Therapist to join our extensive, well-established multi-specialty physician group practice in
Denton, TX . Opportunities also available in Las Colinas and the greater Fort Worth area.

Our mission is to care for every patient as we would a cherished member of our family. The practice offers Hematology/Medical Oncology, Breast Surgical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Clinical trial & Research programs.
About the Role Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT): Administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. The ideal candidate must maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions, noting on the patient's chart such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. The ideal candidate must have familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a particular field. The candidate will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Essential Functions - Performs tumor localization procedures, shells, moulds, etc.
- Performs daily linear accelerator warm-up procedures.
- Checks photon beam and all electron beams for consistency. Checks physics components for accuracy of beam alignment.
- Delivers accurately the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy. Observes patients for unusual reactions and events.
Skills/Abilities - Skill in effectively performing radiation procedures.
- Skill in explaining radiation plans and treatments to patients and their families.
- Skill in identifying unsatisfactory set-up and/or errors and reporting them to radiation oncologist.
- Ability to work as an effective team member with staff.
- Ability to appropriately calm confused or upset patients.
Environmental/Working Conditions - Medical office, exam rooms, and radiation therapy rooms. Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to radiology setting.
Additional Requirements - Must have TrueBeam experience
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and the general public.
- Must be able to accurately assess patients, recognize patient needs and effectively communicate needs to physician/nurse.
- Must have refined computer skills, including word processing, keyboarding, and ability to effectively utilize computerized scheduling system and electronic medical record.
- Must have professional appearance, be able to handle multiple tasks, be a self-starter and a team player.
- Requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) registry or registry eligibility in radiation therapy technology.
- Must be licensed by the State Department of Health Services.
