Overview:
We are seeking a skilled TechOps Engineer to join our team in New Haven, CT. The ideal candidate will have experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Windows server and client OS (Windows 2008-Windows 2019), Microsoft PowerShell scripting, and administration of Group Policy Objects (GPO). This role will involve ensuring the stability and reliability of our IT infrastructure, including server and client systems, through effective management of Active Directory and related services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Active Directory services, including user accounts, groups, and organizational units.
- Administer DNS and DHCP services to ensure efficient network communication and IP address management.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows server and client operating systems (Windows 2008-Windows 2019) to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and streamline operations.
- Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) to enforce security policies, manage user desktops, and control system configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support IT infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements, including data protection and access control.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving IT-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
Required Skills:
- Experience with Active Directory, including user and group management, group policy administration, and domain controller configuration.
- Proficiency in DNS and DHCP administration, including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and client operating systems (Windows 2008-Windows 2019), including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerShell scripting for automation and task scheduling.
- Experience with administration of Group Policy Objects (GPO) for centralized management of system settings and security policies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve IT infrastructure issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and end-users.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
