GENERAL SUMMARY
Provide technical leadership and support to the Maintenance management team. Independently develop and execute plans and provide direction to others as needed in support of department initiatives, goals and activities. Provide accountability and leadership as a member of the Maintenance management team. Serve as an advisor to others.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
With minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy, this position provides direct support to both internal and external customers through the use of highly advanced knowledge of multiple maintenance support tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to: Training, Outage Coordination, Foreign Material Exclusion Coordination, Budget Tracking and Preventative Maintenance Coordination.
• Conduct tasks as assigned, in multiple areas of maintenance support.
• Lead specialty programs as assigned. Specialty programs may include model optimization, leakage reduction, and rework programs.
• Implement department performance reporting and indicators to monitor and track department goals, business objectives and program progress as assigned.
• Track trends and implement techniques or programs to improve maintenance’s human performance event rate. Prepare event investigations as required.
• Disposition of Action Request Condition Reports (AR-CR) and provide support with corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Represent the maintenance department at the Condition Report Review Group (CRG) in accordance with SWP-CAP-06.
• Maintain the maintenance manpower schedule. This includes scheduling overtime for bargaining unit and management personnel.
Support other initiatives:
• Develop and implement procedure revisions as assigned.
• Lead or support self-assessments as requested.
• Perform classroom observations, OJT/OJE observations and field observations looking for improvements in training and work control processes.
• Provide constructive input and support to the PM program as needed.
• Provide recommendations to maintenance management as necessary.
• Develop job aids and design non-training performance improvement interventions (job standards, feedback mechanisms, process flow, etc.).
• Evaluate operating experience associated with human performance behaviors for applicability to maintenance and/or the station and recommend corrective actions.
• Identify and develop enhancements to the station’s observation program. Interface with users of the station’s observation program log to ensure overall effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot problems and test problem fixes associated with the station’s observation program as needed.
• Identify and develop process improvement initiatives.
• Represent the maintenance department with outside agencies and internal organizations, such as INPO, NRC, USA and outside utilities.
• Participate as a maintenance point of contact for INPO assist visits, NRC inspections and utility benchmarking.
May be required to support Emergency Response and Outage positions and/or provide concentrated support in one or more areas of the maintenance department based on business needs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Specialist V
A bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and eight years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities or engineering.
OR
An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and ten years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities or engineering.
OR
A high school diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities or engineering.
At least four years of applicable experience must be in support of an operating nuclear plant.
Specialist IV
A bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and six years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, or other relevant technical environment.
OR
An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, or other relevant technical environment.
OR
A high school diploma or GED and ten years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, or other relevant technical environment.
Specialist III
A bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university and four years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, or other relevant technical environment.
OR
An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, or other relevant technical environment.
OR
A high school diploma or GED and eight years of experience in operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, or other relevant technical environment.
Pay Range:
Specialist V Salary:
$108,279 - $162,419
Midpoint: $135,349
Specialist IV Salary:
$94,148 - $141,222
Midpoint: $117,685
Specialist III Salary:
$81,862 - $122,792
Midpoint: $102,327
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
