Respiratory Care Practitioner (NICU)– Respiratory Therapy

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner in our NICU , you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive respiratory care to our tiniest patients, ensuring their optimal health and well-being.

- Maintains all required patient and department records.
- Maintains and evaluates proper functioning of equipment when required.
- Responsible for obtaining written physician orders pertaining to respiratory care.
- Responsible for organizing and planning daily work assignments and notifying shift charge therapist of problems and missed procedures.
- Maintains professional knowledge of current respiratory care practice and department policy and procedures.
- Responsible to practice job duties in accordance with department /Medical Center policy and procedure and the Respiratory Care Standards of Practice.
- The NICU RCP functions as primary NICU therapist.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Must have minimum of 1 year critical care experience in respiratory critical care experience in respiratory therapy or minimum 2 years’ experience in a level 2 or greater with competency in neonatal and newborn delivery intubation.
- Must be an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of two years working experience as an RCP in NICU.
- Current State of California Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
- Current certification in specialty area as required.
- Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (AHA PALS) required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.
- Must maintain current Fire Safety card required
