Position overview Position title: Pulmonary Medicine
Salary range: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $82,200 - $235,400. Salary is negotiated annually. Position description The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and Physiology in the Department of Medicine () at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting for academic and research physicians at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks.
Our physician support and dedication to teaching, research and clinical excellence has created multiple faculty and contractual staff positions available to support UC San Diego Health locations: UCSD Hillcrest and La Jolla, CA hospitals, as well as, our affiliated hospitals throughout San Diego, Riverside and Imperial Counties.
Successful candidates will be responsible for participating in the clinical care of patients, providing high-quality training and teaching, and/or research related to one or more of the division-related academic interests.
The appropriate series and appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Additional information can be found here:

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a MD, DO or equivalent, or PhD in health related fields, or MD/PhD.
Candidates with a MD, DO or equivalent must also have Board certification/eligibility within at least one specialty: Pulmonary, Critical Care, and/or Sleep Medicine.
Candidates with a MD, DO or equivalent must be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Preferred qualifications Candidates with training and experience in one or more of the following clinical and/or academic interests: General Pulmonary, Inpatient consultation and Outpatient clinical experience, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, Cystic Fibrosis, Advanced Lung Disease, Transplant, Pulmonary Vascular Medicine, Interventional Pulmonary and Physiology are preferred.
