Job description
Summary of Position:
The main duties of this role involve overseeing Production Operations and facility maintenance in compliance with cGMP standards, along with coordinating production activities to support the Packaging and/or Sales departments. The position carries the responsibility of upholding product quality, efficiently managing and allocating resources, providing leadership and supervision to production staff, identifying opportunities for process enhancement, and promptly addressing and resolving operational issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management of internal and external resources to establish and achieve Production objectives on time and in-full.
- Supervise batch manufacturing of dietary supplements.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate flow of work with other departments within the organization to expedite production.
- Identify, resolve production related problems, and improve production operations.
- Lead department personnel and improve production processes as needed.
- Coordinate testing, release of materials, and finished products with the Quality Control department.
- Support workers as questions, concerns, or feedback arises.
- Provides weekly KPI (Key Performance Indicator).
- Ensure production equipment is regularly maintained and documented.
- Inspect machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Order production supplies, tools, and other materials.
- Support workers as questions, concerns, or feedback arises.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Plan which product will run on each line.
- Training of lead personnel, and employees.
- Reviews that each employee follows safe work practices and evaluates the need for such training.
- Takes corrective or disciplinary actions with the help of Human Resources when the deviation from GMP or Safe Work Practices is noticed.
- Investigation of stoppages and discrepancies of materials delivered to production.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet customer demands.
- Write production reports.
- Other duties as assigned by the manufacturing manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, resolve conflicts, engage with people quickly and foster teamwork.
- Ability to make decisions, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of various manufacturing operations and cGMP is required.
- Possess good communication skills and should be able to provide job-related training to new production personnel.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using relevant software, such as production scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems.
- Experience in a nutraceutical or cosmetic industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in Lean manufacturing.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing/walking 80% of the day, roughly 6 to 7 hours.
- Minimal lifting, no more than 50 lbs.
- Some slight bending/maneuvering.
- Requires reaching.
Job Type: Full-Time.
2nd Shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm - Must be able to work occasionally on Saturdays.
Annual Pay: $75K - $80K.
