Job description

NorthHill Technology Resources has a need for a Linux Systems Engineer to support a Federal Program in Springfield, VA. This is a direct-hire with our client, a fast-growing Federal Integrator. Excellent compensation, benefits and company culture. A current Top Secret Clearance and ability to obtain CI Polygraph is required.

Linux System Engineer:
JOB DESCRIPTION
•Contributes to completion of specific engineering programs and projects
•Develops solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems
•Perform complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
•Oversees complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
•Performs complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
•Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
•Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology
•May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
•May serve as a team or task lead

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION: BA/BS or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience

•5+ years of related systems engineering experience

REQUIRED SKILLS
•Linux system administrator
•Scripting / Coding (Bash, Python, etc)
•Kubernetes
•Ansible
•Helm charts
•Automation

DESIRED SKILLS
A deep expertise in one of the following areas and working knowledge of one or more of the other following:
•Operational support
•Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, XenServer/XCP-ng)
•Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies
•Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
•Ceph storage platform
•GitLab
