Department Summary: MITRE's Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Future Department, N132, has an excellent opportunity supporting the modernization of our nation's strategic deterrence through modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of current and future systems supporting the mission. Our work focuses on nuclear deterrence and the technical capabilities of the mission systems. Be part of a dynamic technical team having substantial impact on the design and development of next generation DoD systems.
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our team as an Associate Sensors Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Analyzing system performance and capability of multi-mission ground-based radar systems
- Evaluating future system concepts through modeling and simulation using a combination of commercial software, government provided software, and internally developed software
- Developing digital engineering models for representing system at appropriate level of fidelity
- Documenting findings in support of presentations and papers that provide government with actionable recommendations
- Addressing system capability trade-offs of future design considerations
- Leveraging subject matter expertise to assess modeling assumptions
- Reviewing system description documents and requirements
- Presenting findings to internal team members and external stakeholders
- Visualizing/ representing analysis in way that conveys understanding and impact
Basic Qualifications: - Typically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor's of Science in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or related field and applicable internship(s) or academic projects degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at Top Secret
- Proficiency in using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, R.
- Familiarity with practices such as version control, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with a digital engineering toolset (e.g. Cameo, SysML)
- Experience with AFSIM
- Experience with surveillance and tracking radar
- Interest in complex multi-disciplinary problems.
- Top Secret SCI Clearance
